FIELD: microbiology, biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of isolation of lovastatin from fermentation broth, mycelium or filtrate obtained after culturing Aspergillus terreus (ATCC 20542) or Aspergillus oryzae (ATCC 74135) by extraction with butyl acetate followed by extract concentration at temperature above 40 C and direct lovastatin crystallization as lactone form from butyl acetate.
