The electronic 'parking disc' is placed behind the windscreen of the vehicle and the internal timer started. The parking time allowed is preset, and different devices are needed for different parking times. The unit has a plastic case (1) with a two-colour LED (2) on the face. A liquid crystal display shows the maximum parking interval for the unit. The case houses a battery and an electronic circuit. The actual time the vehicle has been parked is determined by processing the signal from a radio time clock. While the elapsed time is within the allowed period the LED is green and the LCD active, but once over the allowed period the LED turns red and the LCD is extinguished.
