Material to be ground is fed to the drum (3) in an area (12, 10) located at the first drum gable (5) and ground material is fed away from the drum (1) at the second drum gable (6) and/or via the drum periphery. - The drum receives its rotation drive via a hollow shaft (21) connected to the second drum gable, the shaft being connected to the drive motor. The hollow shaft communicates with at least one, preferably at least partly peripheral, aperture (20, 22, 48) for material transfer to eg. a sieve (21) rotating with the drum. The drive motor is eg. hydraulic directly coupled to a shaft (21), pin or similar connected to the second drum gable, without the incorporation of a speed-altering transmission component. |
