<p>The lock has a rod (2) which slides along guides (3) behind a lock front (4) with a groove (5) in it which allows access to the knob (6) which controls the movement of the rod. The lock has elastic indexation (10) so that the rod is held in place in the locked and unlocked position. The guides (3) are made from a U-shaped section with two lips (12, 13) running along the parallel edges which are attached to a base (14) and which rest against the back of the lock front. One of the lips or the base has an elastic tongue (25) which is shaped to fit into notches or bosses (28, 29) on the rod in the locked and unlocked positions. The elastic tongue is an extension of one of the lips. It may be made of metal or plastics and may be attached by soldering or riveting to the U-shaped section.</p> |
