Stabilised wax emulsions for polishes, coatings and regulation of plant transpiration. The emulsion contains 0.05-10% (pref. 2-5%) of stabiliser, 0.1-60% wax, 40-98% water and an emulsifier; it may also contain 0.1-30% of mineral oil. The stabiliser is a cpd. (where Q, Q1 = Q -NH2, -NHCH3, -NHC2H5, CH3, C2H5) and an aliphatic mono or polyalcohol having at least 1 OH per 3C atoms and/or one or more water soluble alkali or alkaline earth halides. The wax may be a polyethylenic wax.
