<p>The bearing comprises a metallic base and a low-friction bearing coating of a mixture of a heat-curable resin (I) and asbestos stable fibres (II). At least 60% of the (II) have a staple length of not more than 3 mm. The proportion of (II) to the remainder of the coating is 60% or less. (I) consists of an epoxy resin, melamine of formaldehyde resin, polyimide a crosslinked acrylamide-grps.-contg. copolymer, a hydroxylated acrylic resin crosslinked with a butylated maleamine formaldehyde resin, an "oil-free" satd. amino-crosslinked polyester resin or an elastomer-modified phenolic resin mixed with hexamine. The metallic base may be of brass, steel, Al or an Al-alloy. The bearing has high wear resistance owing to relatively high resilience of the resinous coating.</p> |
