(I), useful as antimicrobical agents, anthelmintics, antiprotozoal agents, coccidiostats, trypanocides and antimalarials, esp. useful in the treatment of infections of the digestive and urinary tracts, as growth additives for animals and skin disinfectants : (where R is 1-5C alkyl or 2-5C hydroxalkyl) are prepd. by hydrolysis of the nitrile or hydrolysis and desacylation of the N-acyl and/or O-acyl nitriles corresponding to (I).</p> |
