Condenser, for distillation in chemical industry

The condenser has a condenser shaft (1). A gas or vapour medium (2) flows upwards in the shaft, and a condenser head (3) on top of the shaft deflects the gas or vapour into a heat exchanger (4). The heat exchanger is contained in a housing (5) with walls (5a) and a bottom (5b), and which is open at the top. A condensate drain (6) is formed in the bottom. The bottom forms a heat-insulation base for the condenser and is typically clad or lined with heat-insulating material. The bottom can be a double bottom, with the space between the two skins filled with insulating material, and may also have a condensate drain. The walls can also be double-skinned and filled with insulating material, and include a condensate drain.
