A shading fabric for reflecting heat, e.g. from the sun, comprises an open weave in which the weft 3 is of spaced groups of at least five heat reflecting coated glass fibre threads and the warp 5 is of groups of three such threads. Two of the threads of the warp groups interwoven with the individual threads of the weft groups while the third warp thread is interwoven with complete weft groups. The warp and weft may be interchanged. The coating of the threads may comprise pigments or dyes, aluminium powder, colloidel silica or bronze powder. Other substances which may be used are polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polyurethanes, acrylics or rubber. |
