<p>A telecommunications network is provided. The telecommunications network includes a fiber optic conductor (20, 22) and at least two digital cross-connect systems (12, 14, 16, 18). Each digital cross-connect system (12, 14, 16, 18) has M network interface input ports and N network interface output ports, where M and N are integers that are greater than zero. The digital cross-connect systems (12, 14, 16, 18) are interconnected by the data transmission medium (20, 22). Any one of M network interface input ports of any digital cross-connect system (12, 14, 16, 18) may be connected to any one of N network interface output ports of any other digital cross-connect system (12, 14, 16, 18) through the data transmission medium (20, 22).</p> |
