The system (20) has two parts (21, 22) which can be uncoupled from each other. The part (22) which is fixed to the underside of the table is a length of plastic extrusion with a longitudinal groove (23). In section, the groove tapers down (24) from the surface and then opens up into a circle. The other part (21) is a flat plate (25) with a flange (27) at right angles in its middle. The other surface of the plate carries a piece of burr material (26), e.g. VELCRO. The edges of the table cloth also carry strips of corresponding material which will stick to the burrs, when the table cloth is stretched over the table and pressed under.
