<p>N2F4 and ClNF2 are generated by reacting Cl2 and HNF2, products being separated, e.g. by fractional condensation. Proportion of each product varies according to conditions and method used, ClNF2 formation being favoured by use of Cl2:HNF2 molar ratio >2:1 and of thorough mixing, as achieved in solvent, e.g. CCl4. Reactive products are useful as intermediates and oxidants, esp. in rocket fuels etc.</p> |
