Herpex simplex vaccine comprises glycoprotein D of this virus or its immunological fragments and 3-deacylated monophosphoryl lipid A as an auxiliary agent. The vaccine is effective in a process of humoral as well as cell-mediated immunity and are useful for the suppression of acute and recidivous infections caused by Herpex simplex.
