An aq. ceramic slurry (I) comprises: (a) 10-90 wt.% (of the slurry) of ceramic particles selected from alumina, Al nitrile, silica, Si carbide and nitride, sialon, zirconia, Zr nitride, carbide and boride, Ti nitride, boride and carbide, Ba titanate, B nitride and carbide, W carbide and boride, and/or oxides of Sn, Pb, Ru, W, Y, Ni, Mg and/or Ca; (b) 0.5-50 w.% (based on wt,. of (a)) of a polymer(s) comprising polymerised units of a mono-ethylenically unsatd. acetoacetyl gp.-contg. (meth)acrylate monomer; (c) sufficient polyfunctional amine(s) to provide 0.01-100 moles of amine functionality per mole of acetoacetyl gp.-contg. (meth)acrylate monomer; and (d) water to a total of 100 wt.%. Also claimed are: (1) a ceramic green body comprising (a) and a crosslinked binder system formed by the reaction of (b) and (c); and (2) a method for the prepn. of a ceramic green body comprising forming and then drying it. |
