Process and use of an installation for reclaiming metals from metallic scrap material

Reclaiming of zinc-plated metal sheets is carried out in a rotary furnace (1) with an oxygen-fuel burner (2). The zinc vapour is substantially oxidised by the flame (13) and is trapped in the dust precipitator for the fumes (8). Application to the recovery of zinc-plated metal sheets employed widely in the motor vehicle industry.
