The control mechanism for the to-and-fro movements of the grip frames, in a loom, has a connecting rod and crank rod system. Each end (4a) of the shaft (4) outside the chassis (1) is keyed to the four arms of the angled crank rods (5-8). Their crankpins (5a-8a) are offset from the geometric axis of the shaft (4) by a gap. Two short connecting rods (9, 10) and two long connecting rods (11, 12) pivot on the crankpins (5a - 8a) for the lower (2) and upper (3) frames.
