<p>The windscreen wiper comprises an arm rotated by a drive shaft (10) pivoted about its axis (A1) in a bearing (12) connected to the vehicle body. The bearing comprises a moulded plastics body (14) with a lug (26) extending more or less perpendicular to the axis of the shaft and an arm (20) for connecting it to the wiper system. The moulded plastics body of the bearing has a reinforcing insert, e.g. of a rigid plastics or metal, which projects adjacent to the lug and has a hole (28) which is aligned with that of the lug to receive a connecting element. In a variant of the design the reinforcing insert can be made in one piece with the end of the connecting arm, the arm being in the shape of a tube, and the reinforcing insert formed by a flattened end of the tube.</p> |
