<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for producing the microorganism carrier used in the fluidized-bed biological water treating device, effective in efficiently removing the org. matter, nitrogen, etc., in the waste water and excellent in flowability and durability and to furnish the carrier. SOLUTION: An aq. soln. of the PVA heated at 140-200 deg.C for >=10min in a dry state and then dissolved in hot water is brought into contact with a liq. for depositing the polymer in the aq. soln. and formed, and the formed material is insolubilized in water to produce a microorganism carrier consisting of a granular hydrogel having 1-10mm grain diameter. Otherwaise, an alginate, polyacrylate, carrageenan, agar or a carboxylate consisting of their mixture is incorporated into the aq. PVA soln., and the soln. is brought into contact with the liq. contg. a cation for depositing the polymer.</p> |
