PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink composition having a good degree of blackness and can give images reduced in blurring and having improved bleeding resistance by mixing a specified carbon black with a polyhydric alcohol, a cationic substance and an anionic substance. SOLUTION: Carbon black of 1-15wt.% containing cationic groups selected among quat. ammonium groups and quat. phosphonium groups on the surface, 3-30wt.% polyhydric alcohol and 0.5-10wt.% cationic substance comprising a compound having a prim., sec., tert. or quat. amine, ammonium or phosphonium in the molecule are dissolved in water to obtain an ink composition (A) for ink jet recording. 0.5-10wt.% anionic substance comprising an anionic dye and 0.1-3.0wt.% nonionic acetylene glycol surfactant are dissolved in water to obtain at least one color ink (B) selected among a yellow ink, a magnate ink and a cyan ink. Component A is combined with component B to obtain an ink set. |
