PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent any medium jam from occurring by controlling it so as to perform its adjusting operation only in the case where there is a magnetic recording part in the medium at the occurrence of its skewing motion upon judging the presence of the magnetic recording part of the medium with a magnetic head. SOLUTION: When a medium 2 is set and the presence of magnetic data is checked by a magnetic head, it is merely enough to make out the presence of a magnetic stripe to be stuck to the medium 2, so a travel distance of the magnetic head is made by far smaller than an ordinary magnetic stripe lead, and its processing time is shortened, insofar as possible. Next, in the case where it is so judged that there are magnetic data in the medium 2, the medium 2 is pinched by an adjusting arm 5, drawing it into the side of a travel reference plane 4, then this medium 2 is made to strike against the travel reference plane 4, whereby this adjusting processing is made so as to be done. With this, any medium jam to be produced by adjusting operation of the medium 2 being relatively small in thickness, unstuck with the magnetic stripe as a magnetic recording part is thus preventable. |
