PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the feeling at the impact of ball without decreasing the flying characteristic thereof by sealing a hollow center having a completely spherical hollow part therein inside a core. SOLUTION: A rubber layer 3 for a core is formed on a spherical hollow center 2, and the two 2, 3 form a hollow core A which is covered with a cover 4. The hollow center 2 is made of material selected from a group of rubber, thermoplastic resin or a mixture thereof. The layer 3 is obtained by vulcanizing a rubber composite used for a core of a golf ball. The core A is obtained by forming semi-spherical rubber shells with a similar recess to that of the center 2 by use of material similar to that of the center 2, sealing the center 2 therein at the time of joining the two semi-spherical shells, and applying complete vulcanization thereto. Thereafter the core A is covered with the cover 4.
