PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a diameter of an upper lip of a lid for a container for ice cream so as to allow piling up on other lids in order to achive convenient storage and transportation of such lids. SOLUTION: Pile-up lids are produced, each of which comprises an upper wall 1 and an element 2 arranged around the perimeter of the upper wall. The peripheral element 2 forms a lip 3 protruding above the upper wall 1 and a skirt portion 4 extending below the upper wall 1. External sector elements 9 and internal sector elements 10 are brought together in a synchronous manner in radially opposite directions, owing to the forced approach of the contact surfaces of the external and internal sector elements 9, 10 with the upper lip 3 of the lid interposed between them, a reeding pressure-molding is obtained on both the inner and outer surfaces of the upper lip 3, giving the lip 3 a diameter reduced outline apt to allow piling up on other similar lids. |
