STEERING WHEEL ANGLE COMPENSATION DEVICE FOR POWER STEERING DEVICE AND VEHICLE PROVIDED WITH SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a useless idling of a steering wheel when the deviation of a corresponding relationship between a steering wheel angle and a steering angle of steered wheel is compensated by the idling of the steering wheel. SOLUTION: A steering wheel angleθof a steering wheel 2 is detected by a potentiometer 27 as the relative angle of the steering wheel. A CPU 30 calculates a target steering wheel angle of a normal steering wheel angle as the relative angle of the steering wheel by using a map from the tire steering angle R of a steered wheel 19 detected by the potentiometer 28. When a deviation of the steering wheel angle from the target steering wheel angle exceeds an allowable value, an electromagnetic switching valve 22 is opened and the steering wheel 2 is idled to compensate the position of a knob 2a. Since the compensation is performed only by the relative angle of the steering wheel, even if the knob 2a is deviated more than one revolution, the knob 2a is required to be idled by the revolution of fraction over one revolution. Further, in the range of small deviation, the compensation is performed only when the steering wheel 2 is operated in the direction of the shortest distance for compensating the deviation.
