PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely discharge a small quantity of ink of which viscosity is increased in a recording head which is opened by printing or the like. SOLUTION: This recorder comprises a timer 26 that outputs a signal at a time when a predetermined time period which is longer than a cycle of a periodical flushing operation for maintaining an ink drop ejection efficiency at the recording operation is counted up while a cap member is removed from a recording head after a printing instruction is outputted and a flushing controlling means 27 that moves the recording heads 8, 9 to an ink receiving means to allow them to eject ink drops upon the signal from the timer 26 and resets the timer 26. When the timer 26 is counted up in the way of removing the cap member from the recording head, the flushing by the maximum number of drops is executed and at a stage when one time of recording is completed, the flushing by the number of drops corresponding to the time period counted by the timer 26 is executed. |
