PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable one component to be offset from a neighboring component, by providing a first end part to selectively engage with the bonded face of a second end part of an adapter element onto a slender stem and mounting the longitudinal axis of the stem on a line identical with the longitudinal axis of the second end part of the adapter element. SOLUTION: In this artificial joint component system 10, a lock ring 56 has threads 54 of a male member 48 and inside threads to be screwed with. When the proximal end part 34 of an adapter element 16 is to be attached on the proximal end part 28 of an extended part 20, the adapter 16 can be rotated so that offset of longitudinal axes 42, 44 are in a prescribed orientation. When the prescribed orientation is achieved, a lock ring 56 is rotated until the proximal face 57 is brought into touch with a bonded face 24 of the extended part 20. Thereby the distal end part is fixed against the proximal end part 34 of the adapter element in the prescribed orientation. If once the orientation is fixed by the lock ring 56, the orientation can be retained by the lock ring 56. |
