PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a recovery suction solely by a recording device by a method wherein a recovery head instruction mode is provided, and recovery instruction locations, the number of which is the same as the number of recording heads being loaded, are provided, and a carriage is moved to the recovery indicating locations in order, and the switch is depressed at the indicating position corresponding with each recording head. SOLUTION: For example, a recovery key is kept depressed for a specified period of time, and when entering a recovery head instruction mode, a carriage is moved to a black head recovery location (S1). A user confirms that the desired head has reached a location to show a recovery, and depresses a recovery key (S2), and performs a recovery indication. In this case, when the recovery key is not depressed for a specified period of time (S4), the carriage is moved to the recovery location of cyan (S5). When the recovery key is depressed when the carriage has reached the recovery location for a cyan head, a recovery command for the cyan head is performed (S7). In the same manner, the carriage is moved to the recovery locations for magenta and yellow, and the recovery key is depressed, and recovery motions are performed (S8-S16). |
