PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber compsn. in which the sulfur-donating action of a sulfide is separated from the silane coupling action and which exhibits a good reproducibility of physical properties by using an organosilane polysulfide having limited S-S bonds in the preparatory rubber mixing step for producing a rubber compsn. contg. sulfur, a vulcanization accelerator, etc. SOLUTION: 100 pts.wt. sulfur-vulcanizable elastomer selected from among conjugated diene (co)polymers, about 15-100 pts.wt. finely particulate filler (e.g. precipitated silica and a carbon black) contg. about 5-85wt.% carbon black, an organosilicon disulfide/trisulfide represented by formula I (wherein R<1> is a 1-18C alkylene or a 6-12C arylene; n is 2-6 provided the ratio of the case when n is 2, 3, or 4 is under specified conditions; Z is a group represented by formula II; and each R<3> is independently a 1-4C alkyl, phenyl, a 1-8C alkoxy, etc.), about 0.05-2 pts.wt. sulfur, and about 0.1-0.5 pt.wt. vulcanization accelerator are premixed. |
