PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a volume occupied by a unit in a device smaller by a constitution wherein the unit has an opening, through which an ink tank can be freely attached/ detached, over the top and front side of the unit and, in addition, an inclined surface for fixing the device and a horizontal part for positioning the device and a covering part equipped with an urging means are provided in an intersecting region between the top and the back surfaces of the unit. SOLUTION: An ink jet unit 101 is equipped with a casing 103 having a pair of side plates and a back plate connecting these side plates to each other, and a front plate 113, which forms the housing space of ink tanks and is about 1/3 the height of the casing 103 and an opening, which is the non-existing remaining 2/3 of the front plate, serves as an ink tank inserting part for attaching and detaching the ink tank. Further, at the upper end part on the back plate side constituting the casing 103, a covering part 105 extending to installing part 110 and 111 sides. The covering part 105 is a part, which develops an inserting resistance when the ink tank is inserted. By providing inclined parts 105a, each of which slopes from an inserting side towards the installing part 110 and 111 sides, a resisting feeling at insertion is increased. When the corner of the tank reaches horizontal urging means 105b proceeding with the inclined parts, a click feeling develops. |
