PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve more accurate adjustment by controlling the angle of an optical axis by calculating the angle of inclination of a car body according to the displacement of the car body front and rear part from the road surface and the discrimination between running and stop of an automobile to conduct the optical axis angle control in such a manner that when the angle of inclination is out of a preset range during stopping, a control signal is not output, and only when it is within the range, a control signal is output. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 3 calculates an angle of inclination of a car body from displacement detection signals (a), (b) of ultrasonic sensors 1-1, 2-1 provided on the respective bottoms of the car body front and rear parts of car body front and rear part displacement detecting parts 1, 2, and a signal (k) from a car speed detecting part 20 to output an optical axis setting signal (c) of a headlight RH, LH, but when the angle of inclination is out of the preset range during stopping, the signal (c) is not output, and when it is within the preset range, the signal (c) is output, whereby even if an obstacle such as a tire stopper or the like is provided below the ultrasonic sensors 1-1, 2-1 of the respective displacement detecting parts 1, 2 during stopping of the automobile, a control signal is not output and there is no possibility of dazzlement to a car on the opposite lane and lowering of visual range to enable more accurate optical axis adjustment.
|
