PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new antiseptic system giving amenity to the skin and eyes without any irritation by adding a specific compound to the system consisting of an alkyl p-hydroxybenzoate and N-(3-chloroallyl)hexaminium chloride. SOLUTION: This antiseptic system is obtained by adding sodium benzoate (referred to as C) to the system consisting of at least one 1-4C alkyl p- hydroxybenzoate (referred to as A) and N-(3-chloroallyl)hexaminium chloride (referred to as B), wherein A is preferably, e.g. methyl p-hydroxybenzoate. The blending ratio of A to the sum of B and C is preferably 0.4-1.4 by weight. When this antiseptic system is used in a composition for cosmetic and/or dermatoses, the formulation ratios of A, B and C to the whole composition are preferably 0.1-0.15wt.%, 0.01-0.03wt.% and 0.1-0.2wt.%, respectively. |
