Silencer with filter at exit - has archimedean screw rotated by exhaust gases descaling interior of silencer

The silencer consists of a cylindrical casing (11) and an inner shell (12) with a layer of thermal insulation (13) trapped between the walls. A perforated drum (6) fits inside the two shells (12, 11). A shaft (1) with an Archimedean screw (2) is mounted in ball bearings (3) fitted in the end caps (18). The exhaust gases enter through the top pipe, and pass through the silencer forcing the Archimedean screw (2) to rotate. This rotation removes any scale from the interior surface. Together with other polluting constituents of the exhaust gases this scale is absorbed in the cartridge (15) fitted in the lower end of the silencer.
