The system comprises a pair of annular cores (10, 11), each of which carries a winding (12, 13) consisting of a number of turns. There is a winding (14) which is common for both cores and which consists of a single insulated wire passing through both cores. The two cores (10, 11) and their windings (12, 13) are at a distance from each other in order to prevent insulation breakdown between the windings (12, 13). An insulating barrier sheet may be installed between the two coils (10, 11), having a central opening just large enough to admit the single insulated wire.
