The windscreen wiper for a vehicle is of the type where the drive head (12) is formed with a through bore hole, which permits it to be mounted on the conical support surface (14) part of the drive shaft (10). The drive shaft is produced with an upper threaded end section (16), on to which are screwed the member (22) for securing the drive head in place on the shaft. These members consist of a collar (22), which is screwed simultaneously on to the drive head and on to the threaded end section of the drive shaft. The collar thus is threaded with opposite hand threads, which are such that the pitch of the thread (26), which co-operates with the thread on the drive head is less than the pitch of the thread (24) which mates with the thread on the drive shaft.
