An air conditioning unit (10) is provided which includes an evaporator module (12) including a housing, an evaporator fan (20) and an evaporator coil (18) operatively mounted within the evaporator housing (44). The air conditioner (10) also includes a condensing module (14) including a housing, a condenser fan (30) and a condenser coil (28), which are operatively contained within the condenser housing. A condensate collecting device is located within the evaporator housing for collecting condensate from the evaporator coil (18). A condensate drain conduit (594) provides a fluid path between the condensate collecting device and the housing of the condensing module (14). In a preferred embodiment, the condensate drain conduit (594) comprises at least one longitudinally extending tube and mating structure for telescopically engaging one end of the tube being carried by each of the condensate collecting device and the housing of the condensing module (14). |
