ARTIFICIAL STONE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To express peculiar gloss on a surface of a product with wear resistance and stainproofness by strengthening its surface hardness. SOLUTION: A 2-layer structure is obtained by a base material layer 4 made of unsaturated polyester resin and aggregate and a surface layer 2 made of gel coating material obtained by dispersively mixing glass beads 5 in gel coating resin. A thickness of the layer 2 is set to 0.3 to 0.5mm. A diameter of the bead 5 dispersively mixed with the layer 2 is set to 30 to 100μm. The layer 2 is obtained by mixing 10 to 30 pts.wt. of the beads 5 with 100 pts.wt. of unsaturated polyester resin. The artificial stone is manufactured by coating an inner surface of a mold with gel coating material, then pouring the base material or coating an upper surface of the gel coating material with gel coating resin, and then pouring the base material.
