The assembly consists of an elastomer shock absorbing bush (2) and a compression spring (10) fitted on the fork steering column (12) between components (3, 4, 7, 9) which receive the shocks during use. Three of the components (3, 4, 7) are in the form of rings and the fourth (9) is a locking pin. The shock absorbing bush and spring are fitted in two separate locations on the steering column or saddle pillar, with a sleeve (5) between them.
