Oyster opener with fixed part guiding blade

The opener has a fixed part (1,2) that guides a blade (3) which is joined to a lever (4). The oyster is wedged longitudinally between a cradle (5) and the blade. The cradle is held in position by a slide (6) that is locked in the teeth of a groove (2). The lever is opened by the user so that it rests in a kitchen sink (10) which is protected by slides (7). The lever forces the blade into the gap in the shell to break the hinge and to open the shell. After use the opener folds into a compact parallelepiped.
