A tool for opening shellfish, in particular oysters, comprises a bent rod engaged in a hole made in the upper shell, near the adductor muscle. The tool has a handle holding the rod at one end, forming an L shape. The free end section (3) of the rod is flattened, looking along the handle (2) axis (M). The tip is curved or hooked, allowing a pulling position to be taken up, in relation to the direction of rotation (R) of the tool (1).
