Adaptor to ease key turning for the handicapped or disabled

The key (1) has a head (5) and a section (3) which activates the lock. The adaptor consists of a casing (9) which fits over the head of the key and which is fixed firmly in position. It is wider than the average size of an adult thumb and is 4 to 5 centimetres wide and 4 to 6 millimetres thick. The length of the adaptor is at least 2 centimetres. The adaptor may be 4 centimetres square. It is moulded out of synthetic materials over the head of the key using a cold hardening resin. Alternatively the adaptor may be made in two halves which clip together over the key or can be screwed together. The adaptor may have a hollow area (19) which can contain information to identify the key if it is lost.
