The invention relates to a multipurpose rotating attachment intended to connect dental instruments (1a, 1b) with the rear portions (22) of varying geometric configurations to a power supply (S). This attachment is characterized by a nut (16) which is formed in the front by a removable socket (50a, 50b), and in the rear by an insert (52) which can be connected to the socket (50a, 50b) by a screw-nut system, the socket (50a, 50b) being designed to be attached to the dental instrument (1a, 1b), while the insert (52) has a bearing surface (58b) which comes to rest against the ring (44), and axially maintains a mobile fitting (28a, 28b) on a fixed fitting (26).
