An adjustable rail assembly for motor vehicle seats is disclosed in which the slide and/or the guide rail are composed of two or more parts. This allows the rail assembly to be assembled (with anti-friction means between them) and then the rail parts to be joined together. This avoids the need to manufacture the rails to tight tolerances and allows cheaper manufacturing processes to be used. The adjustable rail assembly may be motor driven and may carry position locking means. |
