1502204 Determination of triglycerides BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM GmbH 10 June 1976 [12 Aug 1975] 24061/76 Addition to 1395126 Heading G1B Process for the determination of triglycerides in a sample by enzymatic saponification comprises adding to the sample a reagent comprising lipase in a buffer in the presence of a carboxyl esterase and an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal alkyl sulphate, the alkyl radical containing 10-15 C atoms, and a compound of the general formula RO (CH 2 CH 2 O) 2 H wherein R is an alkyl or alkenyl radical containing 14 to 20 C atoms and n is from 7 to 20. The lipase is suitably obtained from Rhizopus arrhizus. A phosphate buffer is preferably used. The following may also be present in the reagent, (a) a serum albumin, and (b) a system for the detection of glycerol e.g. nicotinamide-adenine-dinucleotide, adenosine triphosphate, phosphoenol pyruvate, lactate dehydrogenase, pyruvate kinase, glycerokinase, magnesium ions and a buffer. The compound of the above general formula is suitably a mixture of steryl and cetyl polyglycol ethers. |
