<p>The lacquers consist of 65 to 90% of a copolymer (A) and 35 to 10% of an organic polyisocyanate (B). (A) is produced from (a) 20 to 50% of styrene or deriv. (b) 10 to 40% acrylate or methacrylate ester, (c) 3 to 18% of an unsat. mono or di- carboxylic acid, and (d) 10 to 50% of alpha- or alpha, alpha-dialkyl-alkane monocarboxylic acid glycidyl ester. They are suitable for use as primer and top coats for application to various substrates such as wood, metals, plastics, esp. to galvanised iron and to zinc. After hardening for 7 days at 20 degrees C the films are not swollen by water, and cannot be removed by scraping. Coatings have excellent resistance to weather and yellowing.</p> |
