<p>Titanium dioxide particles characterized in that they contain at least one cationic polymer adsorbed at its surface and an isoelectric point (IEP) preferably of at least 5.5. Paper containing an opacifying pigment consisting of at least one of the said particles. Paper-based laminate containing an opacifying pigment consisting of at least one of the said particles. Use of the said particles as opacifying pigments for papers and for paper-based laminates.</p>
