Amidohydrindenesulphonylureas and semicarbazides of formula (I) - where A=opt. substd. alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, aralkyl, aryloxyalkyl, arylthioalkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, thienyl, furyl, alkoxy, alkenyloxy, aralkoxy, cycloalkoxy, cycloalkylalkoxy, cycloalkenyloxy, cycloalkenylalkoxy, or the group in which V and W may be the same or different, and represent hydrogen or opt. substd. alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, or aralkyl or, together with the N atom, represent an opt. substd. satd. heterocyclic ring. - R1=hydrogen, lower alkyl or aralkyl - R2=saturated or unsaturated, straight or branched chain alkyl or cycloalkyl group, which can also be broken by sulphur or oxygen, or an opt. substd. aryl or aralkyl, or an opt. substd. satd. or unsatd. alkyleneimino residue (3 to 7 C atoms) which may also contain an endoalkylene group with 1 to 3 C atoms. - The compounds are antidiabetics, lowering the blood sugar level in the body.
