<p>A method of forming a contact lens (22) containing a colored ring (24) that covers a portion of or the entire limbus area of the eye when the contact lens is worn. The method of forming the contact lens (22) includes applying a colorant material (12) in a limbal ring pattern (24) to the surface (14) of a one-sided contact lens mold (10), then filling the one-sided contact lens mold (10) with a polymerizable substance (16), casting the substance thereby forming a molded surface (26) containing a limbal ring pattern (24), and machining the opposite side (20), thereby creating a finished side opposite the molded surface (26).</p> |
