Continuous sizing apparatus comprises a treatment tank which is connected with a mixing device. Concentrated solution of a loading or sizing agent and a diluent are continuously supplied to the mixing device, at a ratio which depends on the consumption of sizing agent as measured by a control device, and in amounts depending on the consumption of liquid in the treatment tank. Control is carried out automatically. The mixing device may be provided with heating means.
