1275525 Ureidophenylguanidines FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER AG 3 Nov 1970 [6 Nov 1969] 52216/70 Heading C2C Novel ureidophenylguanidines of the formula wherein X is halogen, C 1-4 alkyl or C 1-4 alkoxy, the X's being identical or different when n is 2, n is 0, 1 or 2, R and R1 are H or C 1-4 alkyl, R11 is H, C 1-18 alkyl, optionally substituted by halogen, CN, C 1-4 alkoxy and/or C 2-4 alkoxycarbonyl, C 5-8 cycloalkyl, aralkyl optionally substituted in the aromatic ring by halogen, C 1-4 alkyl and/or C 1-4 alkoxy, acyl with up to 18 carbon atoms optionally substituted by halogen and/or C 1-4 alkoxy, aroyl optionally substituted by halogen, C 1-4 alkyl and/or C 1-4 alkoxy, C 1-8 alkylsulphonyl, arylsulphonyl optionally substituted by halogen, amine, C 1-4 alkyl and/or C 1-4 alkoxy, or dialkylamino with up to 4 carbon atoms, or R1 and R11, together with the N atom to which they are attached form a 4-7 membered heterocylic ring optionally containing O or S as further hetero atoms, and R111 is C 1-12 alkyl, are prepared by reacting the appropriate 2-ureidoanilines with N,N1-bis- (alkoxycarbonyl)-S-alkylisothioureas of the formula in which R1111 is C 1-4 alkyl, in the presence of a diluent. Fungicidal compositions contain as active ingredients the above novel compounds in admixture with solid diluents or carriers or in admixture with liquid diluents or carriers containing surface-active agents.
