Barrier or fence characterized in that the electricity- conducting elements are arranged over at least two different spatial planes which together form an acute angle whose vertex is oriented inwards and towards the floor of the area in which it is desired to confine the molluscs. The animals have to avoid said vertex in order to be able to escape. This three dimensional device is more effective in achieving its object than previous planar electric barriers or fences and applies to snail farming, the protection of agricultural crops and scientific studies of animal behaviour. <IMAGE>
