Compounds of Formula I where R3 and R4 are both chlorine may be prepared by reacting a 5- or 6- NH 2 -21-NR1(C 6 H 5 )-31-R2-61-N(R) 2 fluoran with one molecular proportion of cyanuric chloride. Compounds of Formula I wherein R3 and R4 are both -NR5-(C2 to 5 alkylene)-N(R6)(R7) may be prepared by reacting a 5-(4,6,-dichloro-striazin-2-yl) NH-21-N(R1)(C 6 H 5 )-31-R2-61- N(R) 2 fluoran with two molecular proportions of HNR5-(C2 to 5 alkylene)-N(R6)(R7). Compounds of the Formula I in which one of R3 and R4 has the Formula Ib and the other is the same or a different group of Formula Ib or a group of Formula Ia, may be prepared by reacting a compound of Formula I where R3 and R4 are both of the Formula Ia in which R6 and R7 are both C1 to 4 alkyl, with one or two molecular proportions of a compound of Formula R10-X where X is halogen.
